About Our Techniques…
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT): This is an evidenced based therapy that helps individuals understand how their thoughts and feelings influence their behavior. Change the thought, and the feelings around the situation change positively. This is a therapeutic modality that is successful in treating most mental health disturbances.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): Using a client’s rapid, rhythmic eye movements to dampen the power of emotionally charged memories of past traumatic events. It is especially successful in treating PTSD, and trauma.
Brainspotting (BSP): New type of therapy designed to help people access, process, and overcome trauma, negative emotions, and pain, including psychologically induced physical pain. Brainspotting is based on the profound attunement of the therapist with the patient, finding a somatic cue and extinguishing it by down-regulating the amygdala.
Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT-Tapping): A tapping technique that focuses on the meridian points of the body, which help release emotional disturbances that are stored in the body. These emotional disturbances can sometimes manifest as physical ailments. It is highly successful in treating anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): An evidenced based therapy that is designed to treat mental health disturbances, specifically Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as eating disorders, substance abuse disorders, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Motivational Interviewing (MI): A clinical approach that allows individuals to make positive behavior changes that allow them to live a healthier lifestyle. It’s especially successful in treating substance abuse and addictions.
Spirituality: Assisting the individual to find the meaning and purpose of life and the Higher Power that resonates for them.
